CCEM

2. Is it acceptable for me to apply for EM Certification even though our company is just a type 1 DE?
Yes, it doesn’t matter.
3. Do I already become DOE Certified once I finish and pass this program?
No. Our certification is just one of the requirements of DOE. You will still need to comply with their other requirements.
You may direct to DOE Website for more detailed and precise information (kindly see link below):
Registration Process and Requirements – CEM: https://www.doe.gov.ph/energy-efficiency/certified-energy-manager-cem-registration-process?withshield=1
4.Is there an expiration on the certification?
Yes. Every 3 years.
5.What are the requirements to renew the certification?
As of the moment, there are no official guidelines yet.
6. Can I be a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Energy Auditor at the same time?
Yes. As long as you are not the Auditor of the establishment you are designated as Energy Manager.
7. Where will I benefit more personally, CCEA or CCEM?
Best practice states that to be an effective energy auditor, you must already know the role and function of an Energy Manager.
However, it still depends on your current role or function in your company. If you’re responsible for the energy management and program of your company, take CCEM. If you are taking the role as verifier, auditor, validator of energy program implementation or performance assessment, then CCEA is for you.
8. Is it possible to assign a CECO/CEM to more than one (1) establishment?
Yes, provided that the CECO/CEM can continue to deliver and comply by the DOE’s reportorial obligations. Also, the CECO/CEM should work under the umbrella of the same DE. For instance, ECO/EM may be assigned to regional offices of the business but not to other businesses or organizations.
9. Will the ECO, EM, or EA's certification remain valid if they switch employers?
Yes. The Certification is conferred on the individual and not the DE.
