The 3rd batch of the Competency Course for Energy Management was conducted online last August 9 -13 and 16 – 18, 2021, via Zoom. Meralco Power Academy (MPA), in partnership with PIEMPI, fielded subject matter experts to facilitate the course: Eugene Aurallo, Marionel Peralta, Robert Jarquio and Rommel Benig.

CCEM aims to strengthen competency to comply with Department of Energy (DoE) requirements on energy efficiency and conservation. Topics include the implementation and improvement of energy efficiency measures, conduct of regular energy audit, and energy monitoring and control. Participants are taught how to prepare periodic reports on energy utilization and energy conservation. A major learning from the course is how to reduce the risks brought about the the law and how to better manage the energy consumption of facilities, equipment and devices.

Participants gave the facilitators high ratings for how the course was well-presented, easy to understand and interactive sessions were incorporated to discuss theories, insights and practical application.

Discussions on Regression Analysis, designing and establishing energy management systems and database references were among the topics discussed in the 8 day online course.
