Meralco Power Academy (MPA) was recently engaged by Panay Energy Dev’t Corp (PEDC) to conduct a System Loss Management Training for electric distribution utilities in Western Visayas, held in Iloilo City. Forty (40) engineers from 10 utilities namely Aklan Electric Cooperative (AKELCO), Antique Electric Cooperative (ANTECO), Capiz Electric Cooperative (CAPELCO), Guimaras Electric Cooperative (GUIMELCO), Iloilo Electric Cooperatives I,II,III (ILECO I,II,III), Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO), Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO), Panay Electric Company (PECO),  and power generation Global Business Power (GBPC) participated in the 2 day program facilitated by Meralco experts Marvin Gonsalves of Metering Services Asset Management and Sante Buella and Adorado Tarun of Revenue Assurance Management.  The course offered an understanding of issues, challenges and facts as well as insights on the latest trends and programs on system loss management for the power industry.  Meralco also shared the lessons and experience in its journey towards reducing system loss in its operations.
 
A separate forum was also organized by MPA for Human Resources heads and officers of these electric companies, MPA’s Head of Program Management Eugene Araullo and Head of Business Devt and Marketing Agnes Fidelino imparted the latest concepts on Strategic Talent Management as a means to respond to the rapid transformation of the energy industry.
